|DATE||Edo ( period 1615 - 1867), 19th century|
This lacquered samurai half-face mask of ryūbu type shows a peculiar feature, as the mustache is not only fixed to the detachable nose but continue on both sides, on the main part. This uncommon treatment can be found sometimes of menpō from the Myōchin armorers, such as a ressei-men by Myochin Muneyasu from the M. Albert collection.
