Two panel byobu, former fusuma: pigments on paper, 170.5 x 180 cm


The scene is set during the night under a soft moonlight, with two hares hidden in the pampas grass.

The hare, considered to be a nocturne animal, is traditionally linked with the moon where it is believed it lives.
